Thomas Jefferson

Portrait of Thomas Jefferson was painted after visiting the Gallery of the Monticello House in Charlottesville, VA.

I studied as many pictures of him as I could find with different light angles and colors. I picked two or three main images of the body and face to base my painting on. I combined those main images together on the computer, and then I used a grid system to trace the canvas.
