The first time we meet, we’ll spend about 15 min with questions and getting to know the short and long-term goals you have. Then we’ll move right into a 30-min rejuvenating Hatha Yoga class.

Ok…this is opening up a whole new world of Yoga to me! I come from a “going full out” life of physical exercise, even when it comes to Yoga. “Just relaxing” while feeling good, just didn’t fit in with the full and energetic lifestyle I have led up till recently. And because I have pushed my body so hard, as exhilarating as that was, I am now experiencing areas of injury. Settling into this Gentle Yoga routine was pure bliss, even though I experienced tightness and stiffness as we settled ever so gently into different positions. The long holds at first were tough. The delight and bliss came after holding beyond what I ever would have done on my own. I had to peek every once in a while to make sure my screen hadn’t frozen. “Is she still there, lol?” At the beginning 90 minutes seemed excessive. I loved how Rukmini interspersed the poses with readings—the long stretches and postures allowed for the depth of her readings to soak in. A beautiful balance. Rukmini’s online Gentle Yoga classes are deeply WONDERFUL. I create a watch party on FB every time she teaches, and my friends are able to easily jump into that class with me. I’ve had 10 or 12 of my friends join the class with me at times. These are people from all walks of life, many are people who would never have attended a Yoga class in this lifetime. Having taken a class from Rukmini during my stay at Yogaville, I have to say that she is a very gifted Yoga teacher indeed. Her voice is gentle and warm, and her pacing is as close to perfect as I have ever experienced. The sequence she taught was so spot-on that I asked her permission to use that one myself in one of my classes. This was an all-level class with many teachers in it and she modified each pose to be both easier and more difficult, accommodating each person’s practice. The Practice

With honor and gratitude for all of the sages who lived and taught Yoga for the past 5,000 years, I now humbly teach and share the practices of Integral Yoga® (IY), founded by Swami Satchidananda.

This tradition is made up of 6 branches of Yoga that address every aspect of our being. 

Hatha Yoga

Bhakti Yoga

Karma Yoga

Jnana Yoga

The path of wisdom

Japa Yoga

The practice of mantra repetition

Hatha Class

The Yoga classes I teach will vary to fit your needs. It can be:

  • Gentle
  • Chair
  • Yin Yoga
  • Hatha Level 1, 2, or 3
  • Or a mix of them

Each class is made up of warm-ups and physical postures, followed by subtle practices: deep relaxation, breathing practices, and meditation. 

Length: The ideal in-person class’ length is 1 hour 30 min. For Zoom classes: 45 min–1 hour.

Talks

The Integral Yoga Hatha class weaves in all the other 5 branches of Yoga mentioned above. We can also dedicate more time with them if you’d like to go deeper on each subject.
